She was a “lively character” …
… judging by Pepys’s diary and her letters, according to the L&M Companion volume entry for her husband, Henry.
She’s considered trustworthy, since Mountagu’s letters are entrusted to her in early 1660.
She’s also witty but conceited, Pepys says at one point in the diary. She sings to the harpsichord and plays billiards.
