Diary readers might find these blog posts intriguing.

Poet Dave Bonta has reignited his inspiration by using daily entries from Samuel Pepys’ diary as source text for poems. He takes words, or fragments of words, in order out of a diary entry to make a new poem. Here, for example is one made from 25 July 1660:

We dine on our knees
and drink to my dead cook,
my mind taken up
with my own sin.

There are plenty more and he’s still going.
