Warrington gives: "Robert Shipman bought the great tithes of Walthamstow from the Argall family in 1663; and left them by his will to his wife Dorothy, from whom they passed in 1667 to Robert Mascall, merchant."

According to a footnote in "Everybody's Pepys", Mrs. Shipman "was a friend of the Battens at Walthamstow, where she owned a large dairy."
