Otte Krag (b. 1611, d. 1666), Danish statesman

After a foreign study tour Krag devoted himself to diplomacy. In 1653 he became Privy Councilor, sought during the Swedish War 1656-58 to organize the defense of Fyn and was taken prisoner. At the Diet of Copenhagen in 1660 he was one of the leaders of the opposition [to absolute monarchy]. Though he had finally to accept the new conditions he is still counted among the opponents of autocracy. -- Thanks to Robert L. Horn for this translation from the Swedish https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otte_Krag
