Sir Edward Scott (d. 1688) Soldier; a member of the family of Scotts of Scot's Hall. In 1668 captain in Col. John Russell's regiment and granted a pension; in 1672 lieut-colonel in Buckingham's regiment of foot. In 1673 it was expected he would be made Governor of Portsmouth by the Duke of York (L&M Companion)
