Thomas Wood. Appointed Dean of Litchfield in 1664 and Bishop of the see in 1671. It was said he obtained the bishopric by marrying off his niece to a son of Lady Castlemaine. As Dean, he was excommunicated by his bishop in 1667, and as Bishop he was suspended by his archbishop for non-residence and scandalous living in 1685. He the retired to Astrop Wells in 1690 and died in 1693, aged 85.
