Sir Alan Brodrick of Wandsworth, knight; born 28 July 1623; Magdalen Hall, Oxford, matriculated 29 November 1639, aged 16; admitted to Gray's Inn 26 May 1642, Barrister-at-Law 1648 ; knighted 1 August 1660; Surveyor-General of Ireland by Letters Patent dated 2 August 1660; M.P. for Orford, co. Suffolk, 13 April 1660 and 18 April 1661; created M.A. (Oxford) 9 September 1661; received the manor of Midleton, co.
