PARKER, John,—was appointed to the Nonsuch in 1661; the Amity in 1664; and the Yarmouth, a fourth rate of fifty-two guns, in 1666. He did not long enjoy his last command. He fell, however, in the hour of victory, being killed in that ever-memorable fight, on the 25th of July, 1666, between the English fleet, under the command of prince Rupert and the duke of Albemarle, and the Dutch, under De Ruyter.---Biographia navalis.
