Summary

A tavern which Pepys describes as having a “sign of a woman with cakes in one hand and a pot of ale in the other”. Identified by Latham and Matthews.

There is today a Mother Red Cap at 665 Holloway Road, but it’s unclear if this is the same location as in the 17th century.
