10 years later, the paper-based book form is still a major force. Sure, ebooks have exploded in use, but so far paper is here to stay. Trends point to paperback books being threatened more than hardbacks. Seems people who want to read in hardback specifically want that exact format, whereas folks who don't care will go for ebooks when they're released versus paperback. I find it all fascinating! I love reading on my Kindle app while waiting for the car to be worked on, for instance, but when I'm at home it's paper-based all the way. But travel - oh travel! No more lugging 20 books in my suitcase, I have 300 on my *phone*! Bliss! (But once I'm in the hotel room or tent, I want paper-based again!)
