kt. 1639 (d. 1671). Son of the Sir Arthur (d. 1642) who was Secretary to the Council of the North. Gentleman of the Privy Chamber 1660; Privy Councillor and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster 1664; made a member of the Tangier Committee in 1665 when his brother in law Lord Belasyse ( http://www.pepysdiary.com/p/8186.php ) was Governor.
