  • The Great Charity (36 guns and a crew of 130 men) was the captured Amsterdam Directors’ ship Groote Liefde, taken by the Commonwealth Navy on the last day of the Battle of Portland. In the December 1653 list, the Great Charity is said to have 44 guns and a crew of 180 men, but it is probably the same ship.

  • Charity.

This ship had been with Sandwich in Tangier in Feb 61/62. In his fleet list of April 1665 she has 170 men and 46 guns.
