Description

A small hamlet within the village of Kensington outside London. The L&M Companion suggests that the whole of Kensington contained around 200 houses. The area shown on the map is a very rough guess as to the extent of Knightsbridge.

Annotations

  • Knightsbridge is a street, running along the south side of Hyde Park, west from Hyde Park Corner, in the City of Westminster, to Rutland Gate, where the street becomes Kensington Road. The name is also applied to Knightsbridge station and the district around it. They all lie to the west of central London. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knightsbridge
