is listed by Claire Tomalin in her biography of Pepys as a “musical friend of SP, son of commonwealth civil servant and brother of Abraham, [a] founding member of the Royal Society, also known to SP. Employed by the Houblons as a merchant in Lisbon, where he found Cesare Morelli [house musician hired by Sam in 1675] for SP.”
