  • from L&M Companion
Of Brampton. Lucy Hanbury (? a widow) occupied a large house of 15 hearths in the village. After 1664 it was occupied by Sutton Ashfield, possibly her second husband (certainly his wife was named Lucy). A Lucy Hanbury who died in 1674 at the age of 18 is buried in the chancel of the church: she may have been a daughter of the first marriage.
