1893 text

Mentioned elsewhere as “My cousin in Ireland.” He was son of Lord Chief Justice Richard Pepys.

This text was written as a footnote in the 1893 Wheatley transcription of the diary, the same one that is used for the diary entries on this site.

Annotations

  • This Samuel Pepys (of Dublin) was a parson — the son of Sir Richard Pepys, Lord Chief Justice of Ireland (d. 1659), who was a first cousin of the diarist’s father.
