‘Graf’ is German and probably Swedish for: Count
The Swedish word is “greve” and does signify “count.” This man was the son of Nils Abrahamsson Brahe, who died of wounds received at the Battle of Luetzen in 1632. Nils Brahe, the younger, was a great-grandson of Per Brahe, he elder, created count of Visingborg in 1561.
