Captain John Cuttle, commanded the "London" (64 gun ship), when it was part of the squadron which brought over King Charles II at the Restoration (May, 1660).
Commanded the Hector (22 gun ship) which sunk on september 3rd. "The Hector of ours sunk by a shot, or his lee ports neglected, the captain and near 80 men drowned."

CUTTLE, John,—is known only as having been appointed to command the Hector in 1664, and that he unfortunately lost his life in the following year, his ship being sunk in action with the Dutch.
