    Pepys bought a gilt tankard from him in Nov. 1660; J.B. was a member of the jury in Sir W. Batten’s lawsuit for the Navy Office in Jun. 1663 against Edward Field (for whom see http://www.pepysdiary.com/p/3815.php )
