    A draper in St. Paul’s Churchyard

    And that’s all we know about him in L&M’s Companion volume. That’s all that Pepys says of him on 29 October 1660, the sole occasion that Neville is mentioned in the diary.

    On that occasion, Pepys, Lady Jemima Mountagu and all her children were taken to Nevill’s shop by the joint clerks of the King’s Great Wardrobe (who reported to her husband), William Rumbold and Thomas Townshend.

    A draper was at one time (at this time?) a maker of cloth, but later also a dealer in cloth and related goods.
