    Modern church-musick pre-accus’d, censur’d, and obstructed in its performance before His Majesty, Aprill 1. 1666. Vindicated by the author Matt. Lock, composer in ordinary to His Majesty.

    The performance was obstructed when, in protest at the novelty of a different setting for each repetition of the Kyrie, the choristers had deliberately sabotaged the singing.
