Gt. in reversion after Edward Reynolds, Edmund Clerk, John Packer, Thomas Packer (in possession), James Milles, John Chapman and William Lane (in reversion) 1 Mar. 1619 (C 66/2337, recited in gt. to William Hawkins 20 Dec. 1624); succ. Thomas Packer or Ja mes Milles; adm. 8 Oct. 1638 (PSO 5/7). Last recorded month of waiting Mar. 1646 (ibid.). Restored 1660. Possession of office acknowledged 7 July 1660 (C 66/2946, gt. to Francis Slingsby). Buried 15 Apr. 1664 (Alumni Oxonienses 1500-1714, i, 249).
July 26,1660 Diary entry:
“…I went away and met Dr. Castle, who is one of the Clerks of the Privy Seal, and told him how things were with my Lord and me, which he received very gladly.”
