A large and prosperous inn that was kept by Peter Griffith, a wealthy and charitable bachelor, and executor of the will of Hugh Roberts of the Harp and Ball which is also mentioned in the Diary. 25 hearths in 1665. Source: Latham and Matthews Companion volume 11. (Griffith and Roberts are surnames that are most common in Wales, perhaps there was some family or other link between them.)
