Per L&M Companion:
… He married his second wife Margaret Brooke in 1665, she being then about 18. Very soon afterwards she became mistress to the Duke of York, and her very early death in 1667 gave rise to the (unfounded) suspicion that the jealous Duchess had poisoned her.

“Hon. Margaret Brooke was the daughter of Sir William Brooke and Penelope Hill.1 She married Sir John Denham on 25 May 1665. She died on 6 January 1666/67, without issue.”
