Ald. Sir William Wale, kt 1660 (d. 1676). Wine merchant. An influential city figure on the eve of the Restoration. Monck lodged with him at his house near to Drapers' Hall in Feb. 1660; in April he went to Breda as one of the city's delegation to the King.
