Capt. John Stone (d. 1678). One of the Tellers of the Exchequer 1654-60. Elected M.P. for London 1653, and for Cirencester 1654 and 1656, and holder of various offices under the Commonwealth in the customs, excise and prize commissions, he was also briefly in 1653 a Councilor of State abd a Commissioner for the Admiralty and Navy.
