Surveyor and instrument-maker, of Moorfiellds, who worked from Gresham College as Operator of the Royal Society (1663-1676) assisting the Curator, Robert Hooke. Engaged by the city in the survey of London after the Fire, and by Ogilby for his maps in his Britannia. (L&M Companion)
