Daily entries from the 17th century London diary
This site will shortly be moving to a new server — although there haven’t been many problems due to the current server, there will hopefully be even fewer at the new one!
Because of the move a number of things may happen, possibly at some point this week:
I’ll post further details as soon as I know more precisely when the move is likely to take place. Thanks for your imminent patience!

As promised, the server is moving, and I am about to switch off the ability to post annotations (it may have happened by the time you read this). This makes it easier for me to transfer the database without losing anyone’s contributions. The site should be back to normal in a matter of hours, although it’s possible these things can take a day or two. Thanks for your patience!

If you can read this, then it means you’re viewing the site on the new server. Phew!
The only thing that’s not working at the moment are the TrackBacks — the lists of pages on other sites that are linking to pages on Pepys’ Diary. But there aren’t many of these, and I’ll work out how to make them show up soon, hopefully. If you do find something else that’s wrong, do email me. Thanks for your patience.

Well it looks like most things are settling down at the new server. There have been a few little glitches, but I’m hoping this is due to the changes taking a few days to propagate around the internet.
However, so far I’ve had no luck with getting the script which posts new diary entries to run. It should post a new entry every evening, but it’s currently generating strange errors on the new server. So, until I work out how to get it running, updates won’t be as regular as they have been, as they require me to be online to press a button. I’ll do my best to keep up though!
